Rothwell is a suburban town located in the local government area of the Moreton Bay Regional Council in the state of Queensland. The Ningi Ningi Aboriginal people were the first inhabitants in the suburb before European settlers arrived at the place in 1824. Rothwell was named after TJ Rothwell, the former president of the Royal Automobile Club of Queensland.
