Burpengary is situated in the Outer Northern Suburbs of Queensland. The suburban town is about 35 kilometres away from the capital city of Brisbane. Its name came from the term “burpengar,” which literally means “place of the green wattle.” Hays Inlet, Scarborough Point and North Reef are some of the different geographical features that are found around the area of Burpengary. The district of Burpengary has a number of nearby tourist attractions as well. Some of these include Queensland Art Gallery, which showcases Australian and international art masterpieces, and Ravenswood Court House Museum, which exhibits the history of the first major mining town in North Queensland.
