I attended a private function here recently, and was so disappointed with the behaviour of the staff. We booked the room (free) up until midnight, and paid $600 for fingerfood catering, and guests were purchasing drinks from the bar throughout the night. The staff were telling the band that they were thinking of closing up early, and were complaining to paying customers that they were running at a loss because the bar was empty. It was a saturday night, and by around 9:30 - 10pm, the guests of our private function were the only paying customers left at the venue, despite the bar still being open to the public. The staff were complaining to one guest of our function consistently, and making him feel pressured to get more people purchasing at the bar. He was happy to help them out though, but later in the night, they repaid him by insulting him! Another guest, who has a cert in Hosp, and RSA plus RCG, was collecting glasses and returning them to the bar for the staff (free of charge!), who were sitting on their bums gossiping. I had planned to refer a friend to this venue, as well as join up as a member and make a regular night out with my partner here, but I think we will stick to the place we usually go. The food was not up to the standard that we expected for the price either. Most of the chicken wings and legs were left uneaten because they were boiled, not baked, and were soggy and dripping.
