Yes, this is the first and one of the most important steps in any carpet cleaning procedure. However, Vac-Mop Cleaning Services can do it for you for an extra fee.
Do I need to have the electricity connected?
If the carpet has been vacuumed prior to power disconnection and it is a basic steam clean then, no, the truck mounts only need to be connected to a garden tap and they provide boiling water for the job. But if we need to vacuum or perform a scrub (industry standard) or restoration clean then, yes, power is required.
