About Robina, QLD
Robina is a suburb on the Gold Coast in Queensland. It is south west of Surfers Paradise and has direct access to the M1 Pacific Motorway. In 1980 Robin Loh, a Singaporean Estate developer purchased 20 square metres of land, which since has flourished and is now considered one of Australia’s most successful planned communities. Sitting on a man-made lake, Robina Town Centre, began construction in 1994. Millions of dollars of re development have since been poured in to see it expand into one of the largest and most popular centres on the Gold Coast, housing major retailers Myer and David Jones, Coles, Woolworths, Target, K Mart, Big W and a vast array of fashion, franchise and boutique stores. Event Cinemas, AMF bowling and a diverse range of café’s and eateries along the pretty promenade, create a constant buzzing atmosphere and a significant source of employment to the community. Robina is fast growing a reputation as a major central business district on the Gold Coast with plenty of commercial and mixed residential developments currently underway. Major upgrades to the Robina Hospital, now the 6th largest in Queensland has 364 beds with 80% single rooms, superior external medical care specialists and provides teaching facilities available specifically for Bond University nearby. Support infrastructure in the community includes a modern state of the art library and community centre, sought after public, private and state schools and a sports stadium (Skilled Park). The Robina train station services local commuters with links direct to Brisbane and its main lines together with an express connection to the airport. With its pretty green surrounds weaved around waterways, canals and lakes, easy access to major arterials, schooling, and facilities Robina is fast becoming a place in demand.
