About Townsville Golf Club
The Townsville Golf Club was established in 1893 and is the oldest golf club in Queensland and the fourth oldest in Australia. Mr Jas Macintosh was the driving force behind the club. On a visit to England in 1892 he found that golf was becoming very popular and brought back many golf clubs and balls that he presented to friends. Initially the Club was called the North Queensland Golf Club.
