Great find in Mudgee. The restaurant isn't huge but still has a nice dining feel. Good vibe and the staff are lovely to deal with. The tapas we ordered came out super quick and was cooked to perfection. No faults!

Took some Brisbane friends to The Wine Barrel over the weekend. We have been a few times over the past 18months or so & are never disappointed. This time we ditched the tapas menu & went straights for mains. I had the best ever steak - just mouth watering with delicious accompaniments. Our friends had the fish which they said was really good too. The creme brulee for dessert for capped it off nicely. Love that they have live music on the weekend that compliments the atmosphere of the place (not overpowering) & the service is always exceptional :)

Amazing food & wine here. This place always ticks the boxes for me, I just wish it wasn't tucked away in Mudgeeraba. It is pretty expensive but the tapas especially is always unique and special, making it the perfect place for a special birthday dinner or lunch. Make sure you go in winter when they have the fire roaring and you can nibble on local cheeses and have a vino or three!
