If you are looking for staff that are incompetent and rude then the public trustee rockhampton is where you go. after our last experience there I will never go back

This week we found out by chance, that the 42 day contract we thought was on Dad's house, settling in around a weeks time, had fallen through. The Public Trustee of Queensland (who are the executors of Dads will) "forgot" to tell us that the contract fell through over 3 weeks ago. In the meantime we had another buyer interested last week that we missed out on as we thought the house was still under contract and technically off the market so told him it was sold. This is just one in a multitude of mistakes they have made. So many errors—sending documents to the wrong people and wrong addresses, saying they never received the marketing proposal from the real estate, yet I have a copy of the email sent to them, verbally berating me for following up and being asked by a PT staff member if I was going to keep calling them—too right I am if you can't do your job properly. She later apologised, however she should never have spoken to me like that in the first place. And this is what happens when you don't call them and follow up. I assumed everything was going along fine and we were just waiting till settlement day, had no idea the buyer pulled out several days after submitting the contract, I repeat, over 3 weeks ago. Absolutely no response to emails unless followed up at my end and good luck if the person you need to speak with is on holidays—nobody does anything! When you do get to speak to someone they talk over you. Seems they have a spiel in front of them and don't deviate from the script. They don't pay invoices to do with the estate unless followed up. And dispensing with the neighbour who kindly offered to mow Dad's lawn for $20 a mow, in a very curt email because my brother had spoken to Evan at the PT and told him he would mow the lawn for $50 a mow. It was only when I clarified to my brother that the neighbour is only getting $20 not $50 that he said he didn't want to do the mowing. I asked Evan how it is possible to pay one beneficiary for work done on the estate when myself and my other brother were not able to claim any of the expenses we incurred when we flew up and took time off work and had to board my cats, to clean out Dad's house and remove all the furniture and belongs prior to sale? Sooo incompetent, it is absolutely unbelievable. I would recommend to everyone to NEVER EVER use the Public Trustee of Queensland. I cannot believe they can get away with the things they do, mistakes they make, and just general incompetency and lack of any kind of ethics. And we have to pay through the nose for this inefficiency, up to 8K already and for a very simple estate, all that was involved is house to be sold and proceeds split 3 ways, and small inheritance each for 4 grandchildren, can't get much simpler than that. Look at reviews on PT website, unfortunately we are not the only ones who has gone through this, every review is negative. Wouldn't you think the Ombudsman and auditors or whoever the Public Trustee answer to would do something? They need a complete overhaul of their practices and staff. Public Trustee of Queensland staff you should be ashamed of yourselves, you certainly couldn't hold your head up high and say you do an honest days work. Poor Dad would be horrified. He thought he was doing the right thing and making it easy for us kids when he was gone and almost a year later, we are still dealing with these idiots and they are chewing through Dad's hard earned money. It has been a sh** fight from the word go and we are not done with them yet, very, very stressful.
