Do you need to see my doctor first?

Most patients can go straight to their physiotherapist for treatment. Physiotherapists are considered primary contact practitioners and here at The Physio Clinic Tuncurry we have good relationships with local doctors who we can contact directly if necessary. Treatment of injured workers requires a referral.

Can I be treated under Medicare?

There is a system within Medicare that provides limited treatment at your doctors discretion. Not everyone qualifies for treatment under this program.

Can physiotherapists request xrays?

Yes physiotherapists can write requests for xrays. If you have xrays or other scan results make sure you bring them along with you to your consultation.

Do I have to book in advance?

Yes it best to phone for an appointment. We would normally be able to arrange an appointment within 24-48 hours.

The Physio Clinic Tuncurry is independently owned and operated by Aaron Eichner from rooms in Beach Street Tuncurry, having taken over from Wayne Gooley who, after more than 30 years continues to practice part-time. Aaron has over 10 years experience as a fully qualified physiotherapist, including two years working with paediatrics including at the John Hunter Childrens Hospital before relocating to the Forster Tuncurry region as a rehabilitation manager at Forster Private Hospital 5 years ago. Beth Cullen has now been practicing in the area for over two years, calls the Great Lakes home and has great knowledge and experience in musculoskeletal physiotherapy and delivers mat based pilates classes. Aaron, Beth and Wayne are committed to providing quality, evidenced based care in the Forster Tuncurry area. We have developed a professional relationship with GP's, specialists and other allied health providers in the area. The Physio Clinic Tuncurry provides the highest level of care for you and your family, providing hands on and rehabilitation services.
