Do I use a real fire extinguisher on this first attack firefighting course?
Yes, you will use a CO2, Water, or foam extinguisher on a real fire—no simulated fires. We even supply a fire permit from the authorities during the fire danger period. We can’t use real fire on a day of a total fire ban. Note: a clear area above and around with no combustibles (approximately 10 metres by 10 metres) is required.
How often should I conduct fire extinguisher training?
Every two years is sufficient for medium risk or below. Where the fire risk is far greater, organizations (businesses) should carry out first attacked training every 18 months or less (recommendation only – not a requirement).
