And would like to rectify any wrong doings by the company, as we pride ourselves on our service and client care. You are correct - Somnio does offer a FREE phone service in Phuket. These phones are to ensure our clients have direct contact with our staff in Phuket & the hospital at our expense. It also is for loved ones to make contact with you when abroad (you can give them the numbner). The 700THB you paid as a 'bond' for the phone was refunded when the phone was returned. We also use basic phones .. so the cost IF the phones break, are stolen or lost is minimal to the client (being the 700THB bond) if we had smart phones this cost would be much greater to the client and is hardly worth it. IF we allowed international calls, the cost for Somnio would be astronomical and at this stage a service we cannot offer. However we do encourage clients to download VIBER or SKYPE on their phones to contact loved ones FREE over the internet which is supplied at our contracted hotels and the hospital. I am also very concerned that no one has been in contact with you. I personally have gone over ALL clients that have traveled in the last 3 months and all have been called or emailed (if they cannot be contacted via phone). In response to the unfair review which was made on 27th January - I travelled with Somnio for my surgery in December & I had an excellent experience. My Phuket based staff member was Nikki & she was lovely, very caring & helpful. I'm pretty sure I know which agent you are talking about and she is not with the company anymore. Moving forward... My emails were answered quite fast & I was provided with all the information I needed. With the hotel - any hotel you check into requires a credit card or bond to paid, this is to be expected by any traveller & that cost isn't on our booking agent, that's up to us to pay that. My Somnio Coordinator not only called me upon my return, but she has emailed me a few times & is in constant contact (and I know I can be hard to get hold of). I was clearly told no international calls, BUT they do provide a phone you can loan while you are there (and your 700 Thai Baht is refunded when you hand the phone back). I understand why international calls aren't included - imagine the cost to Somnio. My family could ring the phone to get hold of me & I was under the understanding it was an emergency phone for hospital contact. There was other agencies out there but I chose Somnio because they had no agency fees & after lots of research I couldn't find ONE bad review. I would recommend them to anyone traveling to Thailand! It's a shame your experience wasn't as great as mine anonymous - I hope your recovery is going well, mine is awesome!

The only reason I would recommend anyone going through Somnio for their medical holiday would be for Tammy, the Phuket based agent, who was absolutely lovely and so helpful. The agent I had that organised everything was very slack in my opinion. She took ages to reply back to emails, hardly answered any of my questions, lost important emails that I needed in her "junk mail", was rude, didn't provide me with certain information that I should have been provided with like medical insurance info and just was not very helpful in general. And when I checked into my hotel I had to pay a 2000 Thai baht fee which should have been organised by Somnio or at least made aware to me as we hadn't even had Thai money on us. Since coming back from Thailand weeks ago NO-ONE from Somnio has followed up with me to see how I'm going, how my surgery was or anything. I've seen so many other agencies with much nicer people that actually seem to care about their clients. Somnio also stated on their Facebook page that they were providing their anytime travellers with a mobile FREE of cost so that they can contact home, the Somnio staff and the hospital. When I asked for a phone I was told it was about $40 (it looked like a first generation Nokia) and overseas calls did cost money...so I don't really see the point in that. Definitely false advertising. In conclusion I would not recommend Somnio Medical, there are MUCH better agencies out there.
