I ordered a solar electricity package and I chose to put down a $2000 deposit at the time. There wasn’t a date set for installation, I was told they would get in touch when a date was available. It took a while before I was contacted and during that time my circumstances changed. My mental health declined and my physical health was being affected. After 26 years in my home and being deep into renovations I made the hard decision to sell and move to the country. I rang and told Sunshine Coast solahart about my change in circumstances and requested a refund. They refused to give me my money back due to being past the cooling off period. I explained that it was a sudden change and I wouldn’t have put down $2000 if I new I would be going through such bad life changes but after more than 4 months of requesting action, they still refuse to give my my money and insist I purchase a package. I don’t have a job, I used all my savings on the move and l’m so stressed I’m getting sick again.

SolaHart Sunshine Coast: Salesman attended to provide a quote. Quoted a vastly inflated price (over 9k, after discount and gov rebate, for a system worth half that [6.6kw panels and 5kwh inv]) Explained they were a ‘premium service’ without detailing what was premium. Gave me a questionable prediction of return, based on inaccurate assumptive figures on a spread sheet. Proceeded to attempt to discredit other local companies based on little factual knowledge which I know to be untrue after some of my own follow up. In summary, the pitch made their service appear disingenuous. Felt like I’ve avoided a shafting by going with a different company.

All well and good when signing you up. But if you change your minds and cancel, very slow to refund a deposit. Make sure you want the product before signing anything with this lot. Big reputation, but.....
