Obtained quotes from Crimsafe and Scorpio for some window and door screens. Advised by Scorpio they were 40% cheaper than Crimsafe, who "rip off their customers". Quotes arrived, and they were almost identical, with less than 4% difference. ($2400 compared to $2500).
Rang them, and the manager of Scorpio, Rodney Southall, became incensed when I questioned their pricing claims, stating they didn't falsely inflate their prices and discount. I pointed out that their own claims of being 40% cheaper than Crimsafe didn't add up either, given the real price difference was less than 4%, and he became rude and abusive, telling me if I didn't see the value of his product, he was withdrawing all quotations. All simply because I asked a question on pricing claims, and the quote received. Being in business myself, it was one of the poorer and unprofessional customer service experiences I've encountered on the Gold Coast and, if they abuse their clients even before progressing to actual work, simply because you question a misleading pricing claim, then I'd hate to know what it'd be like dealing with the business during installation! Regardless, Crimsafe (Davcon) got the work, it was installed professionally, and I made the right choice avoiding these people.
