I am disappointed with the general appearance of the crematorium grounds. On arrival at the main car park people are greeted by a sign about pebbles killing the plants and to bring your own mulch. Then the next impression is very old and cracked concrete driveways which looked like the 1946 original. The toilet floors in the east chapel were not clean. The inside of the East Chapel needs re-painting. Some tasteful candle holders or ornaments are needed instead of a cheap angel holding a tealight candle, which looked like a Reject Shop Xmas ornament. The older top section of lawn was mown but lacking in attractive shrubs. The original dead Bookleaf Pine stumps should be removed. The larger corner lawn area badly needed mowing. Overall I was very disappointed with the general air of lack of maintenance since my last attendance 10 years ago. I live in Brisbane so I am comparing the general appearance to Brisbane Crematoriums but a little attention to detail by the managers could easily improve the appearance of the Rockhampton Crematorium. On leaving the East Chapel the staff were loading the coffin into the hearse in the loading bay in full view of mourners. Staff should close the doors on the bay or delay the loading until the mourners leave.

The grounds here are beautiful, well maintained and looked after , beautiful gardens surrounding and roses growing, green grass. . Whoever maintains these grounds needs to be recognised, as they do a great job. Staff are great also during hard times, you could not ask for a better hand.

A beautiful area and surroundings. The grounds are sometimes left a little outgrown, although it's usually kept up to scratch, and maintained beautifully.
