About Rockhampton Chiropractic Clinic

Rockhampton Chiropractic Clinic was built in 1980 at 180 Phillips Street, Berserker (on the northside of Rockhampton). John Hobson took over the practice in 1986, after practising in the area for 35 years he has now retired. Three chiropractors, Jocelyn Olsson, Yvonne Chong and Chris Nolan have since joined the practice. This has created a diversity of practitioners with a variety of techniques and chiropractic services. These techniques include manual (diversified and gonstead) and instrument (Activator) adjusting, soft tissue therapy and the use of SOTO blocks and a drop table. All treatments are, of course, varied to suit the age and health of individual patients. Not only does Rockhampton Chiropractic Clinic have a wide variety of quality chiropractic services, but we also have a children’s play area to keep the younger patients entertained as well as on-site parking for your convenience. Chiropractors in Australia are nationally registered and regulated healthcare professionals. Chiropractic is a modality of treatment concerned with the diagnosis, management and prevention of mechanical disorders of the musculoskeletal system; this includes the effects of these disorders on the function of the nervous system and general health. Australian chiropractors are highly qualified healthcare professionals who study at university for a minimum of five years, and there is growing research and evidence base not only in Australia but through international federations. Chiropractors provide patient-centred care with good clinical decision making that takes into account patients’ preferences and values, clinicians values and experiences to provide treatment that maximises benefit with minimum risk of harm. Shared decision making through informed consent and using communication strategies that are tailored to the needs and preferences of the patient are part of this process.
