About Poke Acupuncture

Poke Acupuncture is the creation of husband-and-wife co-founders, Ryan Samuels and Lani Stokes. Both are accredited and qualified practitioners, with over 30 years of combined experience. Ryan and Lani first met as Chinese Medicine students in British Columbia, Canada more than 10 years ago and established practices in busy multi-disciplinary clinics. In 2016, they proudly opened their first purpose-built Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine Centre in Lambton, near Newcastle, NSW. In 2023 Ryan and Lani relocated their practice to beautiful Port Macquaire, NSW. Both Ryan and Lani believe in taking a holistic, patient-centred approach, and providing individualised healthcare, focused on helping you to achieve your optimum health.

Ryan’s expertise is second to none and I would highly recommend this practice. I’ve been attending for the last 3 months to get an issue with my sciatica treated and Ryan is a magician and has sorted it out. His acupuncture skillls and knowledge are second to none.

I called Poke acupuncture to help with sore muscles from long distance running, Ryan used dry needling to relax the muscles and provided a treatment program to have me fit and healthy for my last event. I was so happy with the results I'm back for more!

I was in excruciating pain, while on holidays in Port Macquarie and booked an appointment with Ryan. Ryan is highly experienced and caring and was able to pinpoint the cause of my pain and effectively treat my problem. After just 2 sessions, I was 90% pain-free and able to enjoy our holiday. I wish I didn’t live so far away, otherwise I’d be making regular appointments to reach the ultimate goal of functioning at 100%.
