Peel Valley Tiles and Ceramics Pty Ltd opened their doors for the first time in February 1981, in a 200m2 premises in Roderick Street by two brothers Peter and Paul Sleiman. Peters role entailed the sales and ordering of tiles and Paul controlled the deliveries and tilers completing supply and fix. Within 2 years the business had grown dramatically employing 4 staff and 8 tilers. By 1985, they expanded their wings even further and started distributing and wholesaling to 12 selected distributors in the New England, North West and Hunter Valley this growth required them to expand their premises next door into a 320m2 warehouse. In 1992, Peel Valley Tiles growth continued strongly and they moved into a brand new showroom at their existing location, 166 Peel Street which is a 1000m2 showroom and 1500m2 warehouse, making them the largest tile shop in the region. At this point they joined the BIGA Plumbing Group, adding the plumbing side to the business, which enabled them to do complete package deals for builders, owner builders and the home renovator. In 2000, they joined the Tilepower buying Group, with a warehouse in Sydney and a group importing facility. In 2003, Paul retired and Peter became the Owner/ Operator. Now forty years on they are still going strong with 10 employees and supply over 80% of Tamworth builders and distributors. They are still a family business and strongly believe in the importance of serving customers in the best possible manner, achieving this by providing experienced customer service, advice, and extensive product knowledge regarding ceramic tiling and waterproofing for domestic and commercial use.
