From Craving to Craft: How It All Began Husband and wife duo, Kieren and Lara Weber, never imagined they’d one day be baking for a living. But after relocating to the area and discovering a serious lack of quality sourdough, things took an unexpected turn. “We were constantly asking friends and family visiting from Sydney to bring down bags of sourdough. We’d stock up and freeze it—it was the only way to get the good stuff. That’s when we realised: if we were missing it this much, surely others were too.” What started as a simple craving turned into a mission. Kieren built a masonry oven in the backyard, and the pair rolled up their sleeves and began teaching themselves the time-honoured art of sourdough baking.
