Coombabah is a suburban town located in the local government area of Gold Coast City in the state of Queensland. There are many variations on the translation of the suburb’s name, which was derived from an Aboriginal word. The term “Coombabah” is an altered form of “Koombabah,” which may mean “place of the cobra worms,” “place of the turtles” and “home of the turtles.” The suburb is home to attractions and wildlife areas such as the Coombabah Conservation Area. Otherwise known as Coombabah Lakeland Conservation Area, the site has 10 kilometres of land space that are open to the public. Apart from tourism, other local industries in the suburb include cleaning contractors, pest control companies, building supplies and child care centres.
