Competitive price, great service, been there a few times. Been to a few dingy mechanics over the years. I feel like they actually care about my car and the service is awesome polite, and friendly. They don't make me feel like a stupid woman.
Highly recommend Kmart Charlestown.

One of the worst places in Newcastle
One of the worst experiences i have ever had
Had out of town purchasers wanting to have my van inspected there on the 20/07/2019 before buying, so i attended with them after the inspection, the meeting began very unprofessional with the managers first words to my customers being, i personally would not buy this van, he boasted about being in the trade for 20 years and hes qualifications, when i asked him what his age was he belligerently told me none of your business and then went on to tell my purchasers again i wouldn't buy a car of that guy. he had no right to become personally involved in the transaction nor give his personal opinion. his job was to inspect the van and give a written summation and if need be explain his report. I'm hoping this review reaches the owners of this business to let them know what kind of unprofessional persons represent there business and brings there business to a loss.

So so so so unhappy with my experience at Kmart Tyre & Auto Waratah. I took my flat tyre in for them to have a look at and was told it was beyond repair due to the age of the tyre and the damage etc etc. I ordered in a new tyre as they explained they had none in stock currently and came back the next day so they could fit it for me. Long story short, I was ripped off- instead of the new tyre I had both ordered in and PAID for, they repaired the puncture in my old tyre, the same tyre I was told the day before was beyond repair. Being an 18 year old female with absolutely no knowledge of cars, it wasn't until I had driven home interstate and had my pop look at the car that I noticed what had happened. Though initially reluctant to give me a full refund, instead wanting to give me simply the difference between the two services, I went back once Mitch the manager was back from his holiday and got my money back in cash, which felt extremely dodgy given I had paid on card. Have to agree with the bad reviews on here. My fiance went here to get her car fixed. Mitch the manger was the rudest person to her and not only that didn't even do the job correctly. I hate to single someone out but myself and her both dealt with him and he just flat out sucked. Installed a new fuel pump yet Filler hose was not connected to fuel tank. Fair enough accidents happen yet when I went back to get it rectified he flat out lied to my face and claimed it was a dodgy fuel sensor. Have tried to upload a photo showing it not connected. Ended up having to sort out the issue through the customer service line and was even told on the line that my complaint wasn't the first complaint for this store and in particular that employee had received numerous complaints. Makes all the 5 star reviews here seem laughable after hearing that. Honestly I wouldn't take my car here to get fixed if I broke down right in front of the place.

Will tell you anything to get the booking and then triples all the costs, I would not go there. Nice at first then arrogant when questioned about prices increases and not acknowledging facts. Avoid this business and go else where this business Kmart Auto is a Minus.
