Mittagong, also known as Mitta, is situated in the Wingecarribee Shire in the Southern Highlands of New South Wales. The suburban town is about 95 kilometres away from the capital city of Sydney. Mittagong links Canberra, Melbourne and Sydney, which makes it readily accessible to these main cities. The transportation services of Mittagong are mainly connected by the Calwalla train station and also via the Wollongong Airport. Town visitors who wish to stay for relaxation may choose from different nearby hotels, such as Motel Melrose, Mittagong Motel and Magnolia Corner, among many others. Aside from its scenic landscapes and waterscapes, Mittagong is known for Waratah, which usually flowers in November. The town is also famed for its cellar doors and wineries, which were established in the 1980s. Maltings, or abandoned malthouses of beer companies from a hundred years ago, are also some of its major attractions.
