About Mackay Auto-Tech

Mackay Auto-Tech is a premium motor mechanic business servicing cars, trucks and 4WDs throughout Mackay and surrounding areas. We can take care of logbook servicing of your new vehicle (older cars too) with the benefit of greater personal regard and more passion in the mechanics pit than you could hope to receive from your car dealer. Our workshop in Victoria Street, Mackay can also check that your brakes will pull you up reliably in emergency situations, replacing worn components that might otherwise leave you at risk. Brake and clutch services and repairs are a regular part of our day at Mackay Auto-Tech, as are roadworthy inspections. But we are also ready to perform complete engine rebuilds. Steve took care of my repairs with the upmost of integrity and diligence. Went over and above with checking my vehicle for other issues. The job was done on time and within the quoted price. Totally reasonable and absolutely professional service with integrity and honesty. Could not recommend them more highly. not too impressed two years later after having breaks serviced and front uni joints done, i recall a conversation with one of the blokes working on my vehicle I remember him saying that the brake calipers guide pins one of them was supposed to be solid and is a solid fit or from what I can make out designed that way is more what he was trying to say Of course I've been having break problems for about six years now on the front end of my vehicle. so I start getting a squeaking sound which means the brake pads are worn right down and need to be changed I do an investigation and find one of the guide pins on the caliper still seized up and I'm thinking to myself that this is normal it's machined or engineered that way it's supposed to beSolid as he described What a total crock of absolute lies Either the guy had no idea whatsoever Or he was just too goddamn lazy to fix the problem because it was a Friday afternoon. Don't get me wrong Shay was great that guy wasnt!!!! 🤬

So glad I made the move to Mackay Auto-Tech for servicing. I realise now how much I was being overcharged previously. Mackay Auto-Tech were incredibly friendly and helpful. Their quote was very reasonable and the service was completed within a few hours. Thank you for the great service :)

I have been taking my car to Mackay Auto Tech for many years, and i could not recommend them highly enough for all your mechanical and service needs. I was driving from Townsville to Perth (5000km) for a job but my car broke down in Mackay on a Saturday afternoon. No mechanic was open over the weekend but despite that the owners of this business, Steve and Debbie, came to the workshop just for me early in the morning on SUNDAY even when it was pouring down outside and fixed my starter motor within less than two hours. They got me back on the road again, even gave me safe travel advice and did not even think about charging me extra for working on the weekend. These people are the only reason I was able to secure my job. I cannot describe how grateful I am towards them!
