About Lismore Spinal Orthopaedic & Sports (SOS) Physiotherapy

Aim: To get you better as quickly as possible. This is achieved by providing the most up to date, high quality, cost effective physiotherapy service to the community in the areas of spinal, orthopaedic, sports and general physiotherapy. For over 25 years (since 1985), Lismore Spinal, Orthopaedic and Sports (SOS) Physiotherapy has prided itself in providing a high quality and the most up to date physiotherapy service. Our established networks with other respected allied health professionals, such as, exercise physiologists and massage therapists ensure your total health needs are addressed. We can organize X-rays and/or reviews by doctors, including sports medicine doctors, orthopaedic specialists and podiatrists. We are also the preferred provider for physiotherapy services for employers, companies, health funds and rehabilitation services who seek assessments, treatment and training. There are no out of pocket expenses for WorkCover, Medicare clients (we bulk bill), Third Party insurance or Veterans' Affair clients. Rebates: Privately insured patients receive substantial rebates from their insurance companies. We are a HCF preferred provider. More for muscles gives HCF members with Extras cover one fully covered initial assessment, which includes a diagnosis, initial treatment and treatment plan. Concessions: Senior Card concession holders and students paying their own way may request a 10% discount. A list of fees is available on request for other services, such as: Functional assessments dance assessments medico-legal reports work site visits and pre-employment screening hydrotherapy treatment for more than one area or extended treatment. Worker's compensation, road accident patients, (namely Third Party Insurance), or any patient covered by public liability or similar insurances should indicate their position. Following determination of liability, the insurer will be billed directly. Patients are reminded, however, that they are responsible for payment of their accounts should liability be denied. Medicare rebates for physiotherapy are available to clients who meet certain criteria which is determined by your medical doctor. Please ring the office or your medical doctor for more details. This practice bulk bills such patients. The GP Enhanced Primary Care (EPC) care planning items were removed from the Medicare Benefits Schedule (MBS) in 2005 and replaced by the Chronic Disease Management (CDM) items (721-731). The term EPC plan' is now obsolete (although still frequently & commonly used). There are no changes to the eligibility requirements for the CDM items, including the allied health services for people with chronic disease. This is simply a change to terminology to bring it up to date. Repatriation patients: Department of Veterans' Affairs clients - are eligible for treatment depending on their disability entitlement. The department is billed directly.
