I am Lisa Briggs, a Remedial Massage Therapist who specialises in Pregnancy and Baby Massage. Pregnancy is an exciting journey, one that has many physical and emotional changes. I will provide massage treatments you require from preconception, birth through to motherhood and beyond. Pregnancy massage focuses on the special needs of the mother-to-be as her body goes through the dramatic changes of pregnancy. It enhances the function of muscles and joints, improves circulation and general body tone, and relieves mental and physical fatigue. The gentle, non-invasive approach of a pregnancy massage can ease discomfort associated with pregnancy, help the mother-to-be prepare for labour and give her nurturing emotional support. Pregnancy massage offers a wide range of physiological, emotional and psychological benefits. Partner Training - Massage for Labour is a wonderful support for the labouring woman. Sessions available for the mother-to-be and your partner to learn a variety of tools and massage techniques that will give you confidence in labour. Sessions are tailored to individual clients whether this is your first labour experience or not. Baby massage is a bonding activity between parents and their children. In the most basic terms, infant or paediatric massage refers to the process of stroking the muscles of an infant using a variety of specialised massage techniques. Vocalisation, eye-to-eye contact, and other positive behavioural reinforcements are also important components of the massage. Benefits for both parents and baby are endless. My clinic is home based and is located in Gracemere, a short drive outside of Rockhampton.
