Lakeside Gas Fridges

We were advised to seek assistance from this company when our motorhome air conditioner was not working very well. After an aborted trip to their site due to rain, and the business not having an undercover area. The vehicle was taken a second time, and after it was briefly checked, was told it had a fault, although until it was removed to look inside it, not sure if it could be fixed, this was a cost of $80. A second appointment was made, when the unit would be examined more thoroughly to see what the problem was, could it be fixed or would it need a replacement air con - another $200. This was very kindly done undercover at the place where our vehicle is stored. The result of this check, being advised a new air con would be the best option, as it comes with a 2 yr warranty. The new AirCon would be ordered on the following Monday, and we would be contacted on the Monday with the cost and when they could do the work, although we did say we would have to go ahead, as we couldn't use it till all was fixed. After no call by Monday afternoon, only to be told, we will call you back, busy at the moment. No phone call that day or the next. By this time, we had decided they weren't interested in doing the job. So we called the company where we originally bought the vehicle, to see if they also replaced Aircon units, and was told -yes - cost to supply & fit $2500. Still no phone call from Lakeside gas, till Wednesday afternoon, about 1.30pm, saying we can fit your unit at 5pm today. On asking what the price to supply & fit, found it was way above the cost that we had been quoted elsewhere, and also what we checked online. The issue we have with this company. is their communication or lack of. Also when Mick was talking to the lady this afternoon, she was very rude, saying "it's no skin of my nose, Darls" if you go elsewhere. Is that the way you treat you customers? She said on a number of occasions in the heated conversation today, she was so busy, short staffed, and that is not our problem. All we asked for is a costing price, so that we know what we are up for. Now that we have cancelled the order, we were also charged $250 to send the unit back. So after paying $80 to find out nothing, $200 to check more, and $250 to pay for an unused unit to be returned, we still have no Air con. So disappointed, as we haven't been able to use our Motorhome since mid January. What are your thoughts, has anyone elsewhere dealt with this company?
