About Kotara Montessori
At Kotara Montessori, we are committed to giving your child the very best start in life. Our Newcastle child care centre caters to children aged from 3 to 6 years old. We understand that the needs of every child differ. Because of this our child care professionals maintain an interesting and stimulating environment that is in sync with the learning pace of your child. The Montessori approach to child education emphasises instilling a love of learning, and our staff will make sure that every effort is employed to inspire and challenge your child to higher levels of achievement. Our child care staff at Kotara Montessori focus on teaching sensorial, language-based and practical life skills. In order to instill beneficial social behaviours within the kids in our care, we have developed programs to build up the self-worth and discipline. We understand the role of the community in moulding a child's development, and our staff are happy to work closely with parents to achieve the best results. What's more, our qualified Montessori staff have the facilities and know-how to make more challenging subjects, like mathematics, as fun as possible. Your child's journey to academic excellence begins at Kotara Montessori. Contact us today to find out more. We are happy to provide placements for children throughout Newcastle and Lake Macquarie.

Frequently Asked Questions
How is the montessori environment different to other child care centres?
Within the classroom you will notice the calmness, sense of order and children working purposefully either individually or in small groups. When children finish their activity they learn how to pack up and return the activity to the correct place on the shelf, ready for the next child to enjoy. Through this the children develop a sense of respect for their own environment. Children are free to select their own activities and work with this activity as long as they need, they are not rushed. Children and educators speak respectfully to one another, there is no need to raise our voice. Children are encouraged to be independent, respectful and responsible for not only their environment but also each other.
