About Kookaburra Community Child Care Centre

Since 1985, our experienced Mackay teachers have provided vacation, before and after school care services to kids aged 0-12. Kindergarten programs, designed to foster fundamental literacy, numeracy and peer interaction skills, are run at our centre. To maximise the convenience of parents and guardians, child care benefits and rebates are offered. At the Kookaburra Community Child Care Centre, we believe that learning should be always be fun. Because of this, our qualified teachers run both indoor and outdoor educational programs. In order to instil within the children in our care an appreciation of environmental sustainability, we hold activities that involve growing and picking vegetables, as well as compost creation. The natural grass and trees at our location comprise the perfect, safe environment in which kids can exercise, make new friends, and have loads of fun. Healthy meals are provided for the kids in our care. The kindergarten programs run at the Kookaburra Community Child Care are designed to encourage your child to develop new interests and strengthen old ones. Frequently Asked Questions
Are meals provided and included in the fees?
Yes, our Centre has its own Kitchen and our Cook prepares nutritious meals daily.
What if my child is away sick or on holidays?
If your child is sick and will not be attending that day you need to ring the Centre as soon as practicable to inform them of your child's absence. If your child will be away on holidays for any length of time you will need to inform the Educators in your child's room along with the Office staff. You will unfortunately still be required to pay fees for any absent days due to sickness or holidays. Child Care Benefit (CCB) and Child Care Rebate (CCR) covers up to 42 absence days a year, which includes sick days and holidays. So unless you exceed this quota, you will be eligible for the CCB/CCR discount on absences for these reasons.
