Disgusting manners from rude management, I don’t know how they manage to operate a business. Tried sorting out issues over the phone and was hung up on. Do yourself a favour and do NOT stay at this hotel.

Rude, Insulting and Careless management After a tedious flight to Sydney, and a 4-and-a-half-hour drive to Port Macquarie where I arrived with my 8-week-old puppy in the late hours of the evening I finally find the Koala Tree Motel where I had booked a deluxe room for the evening, only to find myself stranded outside as the reception was closed for the day. I try the reception's phone number, in hopes that someone would still be onsite to let me into my room, but to no availability. I then see the emergency phone number which I had to dial several times before anyone would answer, only to hear the man on the other side of the line telling me that he has gone home for the day, and that it was my fault if I had arrived late. As if I am the one supposed to make sure customers arrive during their opening hours. The man, which I assume is the manager or the owner of the hotel, did not seem to care that I was going to spend the night outside because he did not even bother to pick up the phone to see where his clients (in this case me) willing to pay good money to stay in this run down poor excuse for a motel, or even have a contingency plan for late arrivals. He also dared calling me a liar and that there was a long list of people like me on the internet. It seems that I am not the problem here, but management certainly is. I seriously wonder from where they get 4 stars hotel rating, it is a 2-star hotel to me. Thanks to the terrible professionalism of the operator I had to make dozens of phone calls to find a last-minute room, when I finally had the chance to find one at the ***, where I was greeted by a lovely lady who helped me out with a room. She even gave me a discount as the room she had left was for families, which in all fairness was no problem for me. Anyway, if you ask me, don't bother going to the Koala Tree Motel, find another more pleasant and better rated motel in Port Macquarie, there are plenty of them. I hope this review helps. Cheers

Accommodation is outdated and old. Mattress in lounge/sofa bed had wire frame exposed and was extremely uncomfortable. Power supply not adequate as power keep tripping if more than one item was on in the kitchen. Bathroom old and dirty. Shower screen didn't join up. Toilet brush had faeces on it. Toilet seat loose. No equipment provided in the kitchen unless you ask for it. Windows old and dirty and didn't stay open and front ones had a hole in it. Parking is inadequate. Owner keeps his 4 cars on the premises which leaves no room for guests. Owner carried out repairs himself and was not the nicest to deal with. Accommodation rates charged are extremely high for the lack of quality of this whole establishment @$189pn I was disgusted. Pool has a family of ducks in it which makes it a health issue. The BBQ hasn't worked for 2 years and the only other BBQ you need to ask for a key to use the gas. Management treat guests like children where you have to ask for things. If you are in this business you have to accept that things happen to property and possessions. It's part and parcel of the business. NOT A PLEASANT STAY. CANNOT RATE HIGH. WOULD GIVE 1 STAR ONLY

I feel it would be more accommodating for groups with a car however it is still within walking distance to main strip. Rooms are a bit outdated but are still pretty clean and comfortable for a few nights stay. There was a huge big balcony. Didn't try the pool, looks kind of murky but could just be the salt water. There's a bbq but it doesn't look used. Staff friendly and very accommodating, got extra milk and utensils when asked. Dog friendly, but be warned the walls are quite thin.
