Since then, Target has become known for offering the best value in elevated quality apparel and soft home products. Over four decades later, in 1969, Australia welcomed its first Kmart store in suburban Burwood, Victoria. Kmart later expanded to New Zealand in 1988. From its suburban roots, Kmart has grown to become a staple in over 90 per cent of Australian homes, consistently delivering on its everyday low price promise.
