About Inner Pilates Pty Ltd
The Pilates Method of exercise was developed by Joseph Pilates in the 1920s. It was originally used as a rehabilitation program and was later found to be of great benefit to anyone seeking a higher level of fitness.
The work was kept alive over the years by a Romana Kryzanowska (1923 - 2013): A close student of Joseph Pilates, Kryzanowska took over as director of Joseph Pilates studio a few years after he passed away. Romana was one of the most well known and highly regarded keepers of the classical Pilates tradition.
Due to the popularity of Pilates, there are many different types with different styles of presenting the exercises. Inner Pilates teaches as Joe intended with knowledge passed down to us from his protégé Romana Kryzanowska.
Pilates is a unique system of exercise specifically designed to strengthen and stretch the body, while improving co-ordination and control. Regular practice of The Pilates Method can have a dramatic effect on your overall wellbeing by toning, lengthening and strengthening the body and core muscles.
The system was originally referred to as "Contrology". What is now commonly known as Pilates consists of specific movements which can be performed with or without equipment, When applied properly the Pilates method can improve flexibility, build strength and develop control and endurance in the whole body. It puts emphasis on alignment, breathing and developing a strong "Powerhouse".
Intensity can be increased over time as the body becomes more conditioned and adapts to the exercises. One of the best things about the Pilates is that it works so well for a wide range of people. It is suitable for people of all body types and with varying levels of fitness.
