We first consulted Gaspen with very vague renovation plans, however Shaun patiently guided us with his expertise and creative ideas and we ended up with a beautiful home that far surpassed our expectations. Shaun has an eye for detail and very high standards of workmanship for all of his trades, which is clearly evident in the finished product. Not only was he supportive, respectful, patient and professional but he turned up every single day with a smile on his face and a sincerity and sense of humour that never fails to put you at ease. We remained living in our home while renovating so were initially dreading the chaos and uncertainty, however it turned out to be a positive and fun experience, all because of Shaun’s wonderful leadership and constant can do attitude. Shaun is a guy of very high integrity and will restore your faith in not only tradies, but people in general. We cannot speak highly enough of Gaspen and without any hesitation, would 100% recommend them.

We were simply amazed with the work Shaun from Gaspen provided to us last year. We wanted to renovate a tired old room on the back of our old Queenslander. The aim was to make it look in keeping with the style of the house. The transformation was incredible and we were so happy with the quality of work and communication we received through the whole process. Thanks Gaspen, we will definitely be calling you again!!.

They are unreal - they care about the safety of your home and your family! They are so friendly and comforting that now they have finished the work around the house, somewhat feels as though we are missing some of the family. Would use them again and again!

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need council approval?

Only if you are building to close to your boundary, otherwise all building approvals are done by a private certifier. We have worked with Kai Simmons of Townsville Building Approvals for many years and highly recommend him.

So how close to my boundary can I build?

6m from the front boundary, 1.5 on the sides between neighbours, corner blocks are 6m front and road side. If you wish to build closer to the boundary’s you will need to apply for relaxation from the council.
