About Flying High Bird Park

Flying High Bird Park is one of Queenslands great family tourist attractions, located just North of Childers on the Bruce Highway. Flying High Bird Park offers a haven for thousands of both exotic and Australian native birds. Make friends with lots of our feathered residents which are keen to be in a selfie with you. At Flying High Bird Park you have that up close and personal experience with lots of colourful birds as you wonder through the gardens of this 6.5 acre bird park. At Flying High Bird Park, we are working hard to ensure that our wildlife will be around for generations. We have a very successful breeding program for many of our native animals. Many of our Australian birds have declined to very low numbers and are now rarely seen. Our native birds spend a lot of time feeding on the ground where feral cats and foxes can easily catch them to eat. Also habitat loss is not only the trees or grasses for nesting, but in some cases their complete food source disappears. By visiting Flying High Bird Park you are helping us to continue our wildlife conservation.

This place is a miserable disgrace for the birds and animals living there. The place is filthy and the birds in poor shape. The aviaries lack any greenery and the floors are smelly mud with no water for the poor swans and water birds. The llamas were covered in mud and the emu injured.

We were thouroughly dissapointed and wanted to rescue the poor birds from this place. Birds were looking sick, dull colours, feathers falling out, panting and looking unwell. Almost zero plant life in the whole place. No fresh foliage for the majority of birds. A lot of Macaw parrots all stuck in small hot cages together . The whole place was extremely run down . The fish and duck ponds were thick and gluggy. Nothing was being upkept. No sign of any staff caring for any of the animals or surrounds in the whole 2hrs we were there patting g the birds we felt so sorry for. One cockatoo was lying on the ground looking very sick. Ostrich had list all of their feathers from their legs. These birds are being neglected. I attended this park 18mths ago when the birds were shiny, interactive and happy with plenty of plant life. I believe new owners have since taken over and everything is dying. The place is again up for sale . I truly hope these birds gain a new caring owner very soon. 😢

Loved the variety of birds, especially the bird who put his head close to the wire and pleaded 'scratch'. Birds were happy to sit on our hands to be fed, which was exciting for the kids. Great variety of activities and friendly staff. Well with a visit.

Loved the birds thoroughly. We thought the enclosures shouldn't have had plastic plants in them. Some potted real plants that can be rotated would be better for the birds and look, plant grasses in the ground to add more interest for the animals where possible. Food selection is minimal.
