Do Re Mi Music for Children is a local business servicing the Mackay area. Tricia Casey conducts Fun Filled Group Developmental Music classes for children aged from 6 months to 5 years Class numbers are limited to only 10 children per class Classes are conducted over 8 week (term) and the year consists of 4 terms. These classes are specifically designed for children's developmental stages. There are two different level of classes offered. Tiny Tots/Toddler Classes. Children from 6 months - 3 years which caters for mixed groups within families. Mixed family Classes. Children from 6 months - 5 years which caters for mixed groups within families. This class also caters for children attending kindy on 5 day fortnight and attend music on the off Kindy class. These classes are delivered by the Director, who is a highly experienced and qualified teacher. Tricia has conducted these classes in her purpose built studio for 35 years. Tricia offers one free lesson to see what she does—as long as the class is not currently full (10 children). All classes are conducted weekly on Tuesday's, Wednesday's commencing at 9.30. An adult is required to accompany a child/children to all classes. Classes are conducted for 8 weeks in each term, and there are 4 terms per year. The classes are developmentally based and always support children’s learning at their own pace. The areas of development include cognitive, emotional, physical, (both fine and gross movements) social, memory retention, confidence building and aural development. Some of the activities include, use of percussion instruments, counting rhymes on the felt board, listening stories each week and social games. These activities are conducted through singing, rhyme and beat. All of these attributes, support development in numerical, pre reading, waiting for a turn and melodic and rhythmic areas. The most important aspect of the classes is unpressured and fun activities that children enjoy.
