I was having pain, especially in my left ear, whilst on holiday with my wife in Golden Beach, QLD. I saw a locum while in Golden Beach and was advised to visit the doctor at Crofton Medical Centre when I returned home, which I did. I feel I was not treated appropriately and should have been referred to a specialist. Due to this, I did go to emergency for a second opinion, where I did receive an urgent referral and received what I feel is appropriate care. Very disappointed about the service provided by Crofton Medical Centre.
We do apologize that you feel the care received was less then appropriate. As explained we have a duty of care and must follow Medicare guidelines in regards to these matters. We do regret that you felt you needed to present to the emergency department rather then attended the followup appointment and your referral as offered to you.
