About Moranbah, QLD
Roughly 789 kilometres away from the capital city of Brisbane, the suburban community of Moranbah is located between the areas of Clermont and Mackay in the Isaac Regional Shire of Queenstown. The vicinity of Moranbah is considered to be a modern mining town due to its abundance of mine workers and their families. It was first explored by Ludwig Leichhardt in the 1840s and was later expanded in the 1970s, which led to its mining boom across the continent. Moranbah is a progressive community with various sports entertainment facilities, including arenas for skating, rugby, motocross, hockey and even BMX. A number of notable personalities came from Moranbah, including Clint Boge, Travis Norton and Shane Marteene. The main transport services to the area of Moranbah include the Sunny Plains train station and the Moranbah Airport. Different nearby hotels, like Oaks Moranbah and Monterey Moranbah, are also perfect for travellers and vacationists who are staying in town.
