Does donors be paid for embryo donation at Compass Fertility?

Embryo donation is an altruistic gift which means you cannot be paid. In Australia it is not legal to exchange money for body parts including organs, sperm, eggs and embryos. However, all expenses incurred through the donation process are paid for by the recipients.

Do I have any legal responsibility for children born from my donated embryos at Compass Fertility?

No you do not. A child born from a donated embryo is deemed to be the child of the birth mother. Donors are under no legal or financial obligation to the child. However, persons conceived from donated embryos are entitled to know the details of their genetic origins are are able to access certain identifying information about their donor/s once they turn 18 years of age.
