Why choose 'Communicate Connect Speech Pathology':

The Principal Speech Pathologist, Fiona Ann has over 17 years experience in speech pathology and has dual qualifications of also being a qualified primary school teacher. Fiona also has over 10 years experience in private practice and was the sole owner operator of large successful speech pathology practice known as 'Talking in Steps' which is located in South West Sydney. Fiona relocated to the Newcastle area in 2012. Fiona had a large waiting list and many parents would often wait for her to see their child, often waiting more than 3 months. The practice was multi-disciplinary focused and was also known as The Autism Specialist Clinic. Fiona would be referred clients from all areas of Sydney, with some clients travelling as far as 3 hours one way.

'Communicate Connect Speech Pathology' and 'Ability for Disability Speech Pathology' are two core businesses with specific speciality areas. The practice is set up in a homely, and yet professional cottage in the heart of Belmont CBD. With KipMcGrath tutouring and Advanced Hearing Care located next door there is a multi-disciplinary focus.

Fiona has skills in all areas of generalist speech pathology for children, but has an special interest in autism spectrum disorders, disability, working with children and adults who have special needs and educational speech pathology where children are struggling with learning and literacy. Communicate Connect is well set up with resources and equipment, based on years of Fiona creating her own teaching tools and assessments.

Fiona is a dedicated, person centred therapist where your child's needs and your goals for your child are at the core of her therapy approach.
