Clunes is surrounded by many historical towns: Maryborough and Ballarat only 30minutes away.Bendigo 1 hour and Melbourne in under 2 hours. Then there is also all the historical mining towns jotted around, each with their touch of history, farmers markets, antique markets, brick-a-brack markets, swap meets, and speciality shops. Alternatively you can just sit back and enjoy the peacefulness of the caravan park, situated alongside the Creswick Creek, with huge shady Elm trees, green lawns and beautiful gardens listening to the birds going about their daily doings, spot the Platypus, you will have to be very early and quiet, for this one. Venture across the street for a coffee, rummage around some of our wonderful treasure shops and make sure you visit Marie at " Timeless Harmony Treasures "and finish the day at the “Rose & Oak”"Criterion" or the "National Hotel " for Lunch and dinner, There is also the Bakery and The Lollie shop & Cafe, and Book shops to search for that perfect book. So much to see and do, so pack up your kids, the dog, fishing line, the footy, and the tennis racket, your toothbrush, and come on over! Ballarat swap meets, Book town event, Talbot Markets, Sovereign Hill, Daylesford Markets, Gold detecting and Prospecting and panning, give it a go find your own gold nugget! State Forrest, Bird watching, Fishing, Walking, Hiking and Biking tracks, Annual Book Town event, Historic townships, Bowls, Tennis courts, Golf course, Swimming Pool, Cricket and AFL Oval, across the creek from the park, Skate Board track. Historical buildings and the remnants of mine sites.
