Hi, my name is Caroline Gonder and I am the pet groomer/stylist. I have been working in the pet industry for over 25 years. I have always had a love for animals and a passion for their wellbeing. My first job working with dogs, after working in the business administration field, was working at the R.S.P.C.A. This led me to pursue one of my dreams, that's when I started volunteering at The Cairns Veterinary Clinic to study for my Vet Nursing qualification. I continued to work for them for several years, where I progressed to Senior Nurse. I brought The Dog House Grooming Salon in Cairns in 1999 where I groomed various breeds of dogs and cats for over 10 years. In that time I travelled interstate attending pet and grooming expos, gaining further experience and developing my skills. After selling The Dog House in 2009, I set up a grooming salon from my home in Speewah, later opened up a grooming business in Mareeba with doggy day care and private dog training classes. Along side my pet grooming business I worked at Y.A.P.S. Young Animal Protection Society, held a supervisor role in dog attendant and worked in the cattery. Working with dogs with various behaviour problems encouraged me to want to learn more about dog training and rehabilitation, which led me to complete a Dog Training Behaviour Course through the National Dog Trainers Association (Melbourne). I obtained my Certificate III in Dog Training/Behaviour which included training dogs for assistance duties, scent detection and holding Dog Obedience Classes using different techniques. I relocated to the Whitsundays in 2013 and have re-established my grooming business in Riordanvale, set in a beautiful, peaceful location, just a 8min scenic drive from Centro, Whitsunday Shops. I had groomed at the local Pet store in Cannonvale now have returned home to groom full time. Welcome to stay and wait, relax, read or book under a shady tree or stay in the cool air conditioning. Pet care and the wellbeing of each and every animal is the highest priority to me. I feel I have an excellent understanding of dogs and am very confident handling all dog temperaments and sizes. I listen to my clients and always put the wellbeing of the dog first.
