About Cannon & Ball Veterinary Surgeons

Put your pet in safe hands with Cannon & Ball Veterinary Surgeons in Wollongong. The experienced staff at their Wollongong veterinary clinic are passionate about looking after the animals of the Illawarrra. If your pet has been behaving strangely or is obviously unwell, we offer medical consultations to determine how we can help restore the health of your treasured friend. Established in 1991, Cannon & Ball's qualified staff utilise their expertise, compassion and vast experience in treating dogs, cats, birds, reptiles, rabbits and rodents. We provide expert care for cats and dogs, including an animal desexing service. We also provide a dentistry service for animals with tooth troubles including digital imaging; plus, we conduct in-house blood testing, radiology, sonography & endoscopy for our customers' convenience. The caring team at Cannon & Ball Veterinary Surgeons are also interested in exotic species, especially birds and reptiles. We also cater for rabbits, guinea pigs and other rodents. We treat injured Australian native animals as part of our pro-bono veterinary treatments for WIRES and are proud to be the RSPCA's Illawarra veterinarians. Our staff visit the RSPCA animal shelter four times a week. Cannon & Ball conducts in-house orthopaedic veterinary surgery for musculoskeletal issues and soft surgery. Naturally, we offer the standard vet treatments, such as desexing for most animals, vaccinations and general checkups. If you're after advice on the proper care of your four-legged, scaly or feathered friends, we are happy to help. Simply contact the surgery to organise for us to see your animal at a time that suits you. We also stock a large range of flea, tick, heartworm and worming products, as well as prescription diets and general food for dogs, cats, rabbits and guinea pigs.

Cannon & ball are also proud to be the RSPCA's Illawarra veterinarians. We visit the RSPCA's shelter four days a week and you'll often see the RSPCA ambulance at our hospital delivering the Illawarra's stray and injured animals for veterinary treatments.

Amazing staff. I recently rushed into the rooms at 1:30 am with my cat Bambi and they took such good care of her. Kim was amazing to deal with as was Jessica. Thank you sooo much! We've definitely found our new vet!!

Recently we had to unfortunately put our beloved family dog to rest. A huge thank you to Gail who came to our home to make sure our dog Ruby was as comfortable as possible. It was an extremely hard time for our family but Gail, and the staff behind the scenes who organised the cremation, were all so compassionate. empathetic and caring towards Ruby and our family. We thank you so much for caring.

Thank you so so so much to the extremely kind and patient vet who assisted me after hours with the 2 naughty dogs getting up to high jinx whilst i house sat. The poor guy had a me on the phone as a a jibbering mess - thank you for your patience and repeating things to me! Thank you again i would have worried all night (and the owner too !) You were amazing A+++++ service and care for pets (AND silly house sitters) thank you !!

Cannon & Ball Vet Surgeon has been great since I was a student back in the 90's. For any treatment with my chooks (or probably any bird) I believe they are fantastic.

One of my cats passed away last year while I was overseas. This vet's surgery were amazing and held the body for for a week for free and sent us a beautiful card saying sorry she passed. I took my other cat there for an infection he had picked up and they were so kind and let me visit everyday and handled him very well! Due to a major stroke of my older cat, we had to put him down. These guys came to the house and gave him the needle and he passed away peacefully in my arms. I can't thank this vet enough for how kind their staff are and their genuine passion for animals!

Forget Dr Chris Brown. I will take Dr Peter for us anyway. I got such a shock to have my little dog very sick. The care and consideration for him was wonderful.I very much appreciate Peter and the staff for taking such good care of Ted. In a time of nervousness and stress they definitely didn't give me anything extra to worry about
