We stock, repair and fit a range of brands, including Reintjes, PRM, Twin Disc, ZF/Hurth and Allison. Cairns Sim Trans was established in 2006 and is solely owned and operated by Cairns local Greg Sims. We are dedicated to repairing and rebuilding of diesel engines and transmissions in all types of marine vessels and their related components accumulated over 18 years. 2007 saw a rapid expansion of our business with the purchase of a large, custom designed workshop and the hiring of more highly trained staff all carefully chosen by Greg to uphold the high standard of service and quality workmanship that Cairns Sim Trans has become well known for. Our customised workshop is close to all services and is fully equipped to perform most repairs 'inhouse'. Complete with a dust free air conditioned engine rebuild room, heavy labour including rebuilds on both engines and transmissions can be completed throughout the entire year in comfortable working conditions. Our Dyno machine ensures expert diagnostic and performance tuning and testing by duplicating most on-the-water situations right in our workshop. Remote work is also part of the commitment to service that is given by Greg and his team at Cairns Sim Trans.
