About Blownaway Fishing

Blownaway Fishing provides fishing charters to the Great Barrier reef, offshore from Cairns. Our fishing trips carry a maximum of 8 people. Blownaway Fishing operates a 9 metre (30') boat, that provides excellent protection and a 17 knot cruise speed. Our Cairns reef fishing trips target the deep water fish, such as Red Emperor, tropical snappers, sea pearch and coral trout.

Simon has a good and solid boat that rides really well and he helped us untangle lines while listening to our banter. Me and my workmates went out for the day and we went home with a good haul thanks to Simon! He really earned his pay!

I will be going back again for sure! Simon was able to prove that there are big reds right off Cairns and he worked hard the entire day to put us on some quality fish.

Simon was not afraid to keep on moving until he found the fish! He is a very hard working operator and he was able to put us on some good fish. We had a great day fishing!

Simon is a great captain! He is there to help get your bait swallowed! If you want someone to show you the gold in the water, I recommend calling them and getting on with it. I will definitely be back next time I am in Cairns! Simon really knows fish!

My recent experience with Simon is one of the best fishing experiences I've had! I love cooking and eating fish but I don't really like fishing. But Simon was super encouraging for both novices and veterans! He really knows his spots. Don't like baiting hooks? He will look after you! Tangled lines and bird's nest reels? He fixes it in a jiffy and you're ready to drop again in no time at all! He really knows his spots! He also has competitively priced services and his boat is good for 6-8 anglers.

I know I will definitely come back! We caught a heap of fish and we saw dolphins, sea snakes and sharks! This is my first charter in FNQ and I'm not much of a fisherman but I had an absolute ball!
