Uralla is a suburb on the outskirts of Katherine in the Northern Territory. It sits on the Stuart Highway to the north and is made up of very few streets.
Mostly small farms and rural residential development, there are few amenities or businesses in the area however residents border Katherine East and are in close proximity to local conveniences and services.
Katherine East has two primary schools, Macfarlane Primary and Casuarina Street School along with Katherine High School. St Joseph’s Catholic College is also located here for students attending from year 7 to year 12.
Katherine East is the regional headquarters of the Northern Territory Police, Fire and Emergency Services and has a Hotel Ibis located just off Stuart Highway. A light industrial area exists close to Uralla with independently owned retail businesses.
Katherine East is the location of the Godinyamayin Yijard Rivers Arts and Culture Centre, providing exhibition space to share indigenous culture, visual and performance art.
