Roughly 521 kilometres away from the capital city of Darwin, the district of Galiwinku is situated in the Northern Territory, Australia. Its former name was Elcho Island and it used to be a Methodist mission that was administered by an Aboriginal town council.
Several landscapes and seascapes are found in the vicinity of Galiwinku. Some of these are Point Bristow, Abbott Island and Napier Peninsula. Galiwinku has nearby tourist attractions, too, including Sugarbag Safaris, which offers five-day epic tours around the tropical heart of Northern Territory and Mary River Australian Safaris, which offers fishing, hunting and safari tours around the Aboriginal-owned Arnham Land in the Northern Territory.
The suburban community of Galiwinku is primarily connected by the transport services of the Mataranka Siding train station and also via the Elcho Island Airport. Town visitors who wish to stay for vacation may choose from a wide selection of hotels, such as Luma Luma Holiday Apartments, H Hotel and Noonamah Tavern, among several others.
