Winnellie is a small suburban town located in the local government area of the City of Darwin in the Northern Territory region. The suburb is generally an industrial community. Its name was believed to be derived from the “Winnellie Camp,” which the Army set up in 1941. Since then, development has been stable in Winnellie.
