Jones Island is a suburban town in the Mid North Coast region of New South Wales. The community is within local government area of Greater Taree City Council and the federal electorate division of Lyne. Among the local tourist attractions near Jones Island include the Crowdy Bay National Park. The coastal park has several features and amenities such as wheelchair facilities, caravan sites, camping areas, fishing sites, canoeing, picnics and barbeques, swimming and bushwalking. Despite its name, the park offers tourists with beaches that not packed with too many people. Whale watching is also a popular activity while spending time in the park.
