Coledale is a suburban town located in the local government area of the Wollongong City Council in the state of New South Wales. The town’s name was derived from the presence of coal in the early times. It was in the early 1800s that settlement took place in Coledale. The first signs of growth also took place during this time, led by the coal mining industry. Today, the suburb has become a residential community with major features and recreational facilities.
