The Gap is a hilly and leafy suburb located 11 kilometres from Brisbane’s Central Business District. The Gap got its name because of its location. Long ago, there was only one access to the area, which was the gap between Mt Coot-tha and Taylor Range. Today, however, the area can be accessed via several roads. The Gap is surrounded by hills on all four sides: Mount Glorious, Mount Nebo, Taylor Range and Mount Coot-tha.
