A suburb in the Hunter Region of New South Wales, Fingal Bay is situated in the eastern-most area of the local government area of Port Stephens, 213 kilometres north-northeast of Sydney, 65 kilometres northeast of New Castle and 50 kilometres east-northeast of Raymond Terrace. The township itself is located only within the eastern area, while the rest of Fingal Bay is part of the Tomaree National Park, which is composed of forested areas, beaches, coastal scrubland and most of the highlands in the area. However, the bay itself is not part of the suburb. Aside from the Tomaree National Park, Fingal Bay also has a number of other parks such as Barry Park, Squire Saint Reserve and David Nunn Reserve.
