Empire Vale is a suburb within the local government area of the Ballina Shire in the Northern Rivers region of New South Wales. The shire was established in 1976 when the Municipality of Ballina and Tintenbar Shire merged. It is situated adjacent to the Pacific Highway and the Tasman Sea. Empire Vale is nearby the Ballina Golf & Sports club, a family-friendly place that features 328 greens, a restaurant and a club lounge. The suburb is also just a short drive away from the Ballina Manor, a historical attraction that offers free guided tours for seven days a week. The manor is famous for the original North Coast Girls College dining room that was built in 1925, which is the highlight of the tour.
